She Who Was Moonbeams She wasn't human. Rather, humanity consumed her form in restrictions, however, it did not so extend to her soul. I was one of the fortunate ones, the ones that were able to slip inside the tormenting cage of her body, of her limitless mind. But I still could not comprehend, no one could comprehend her entirety. There were those who gazed upon her with a casual eye, those who envied, mocked her foreign ways. Indeed, she was something entirely different, entirely foreign. Not even the most imaginative of poets could have dreamt her up, imagined her so completely, captured her very essence.

Verses from the Continuing Tale of the LarkCome walk in my black willow grove
And the bitter roots will taste your sweet wine.
Bury me there to ensure eternal unrest
And lay a an ashy rose on my dusty grave.

Bleed the stars silver and cut me
Let majestic crimson come forth
And stain these scarlet feathers again.
The grass is glass beneath my bare feet
Grief against my aching heart.

Capture moonlight within a bottle
And shatter it upon my thigh
May the glass sink deep within my flesh
A hungry destruction to devour me.

Have no regret for the wounds of hate
Rape my dreams and twist my tongue
Throw me on the pyre of Gods,
I, the lark who dared to sing.

ManA lone man walks from his fate,
feet gingerly scraping the cracked earth.
Far from home he flees
slowly, slowly.

The land has been wasted
the bitter root of humanity revealed.
Tears fall to dust here
slowly, slowly.

The desert overwhelms him
and turns barren his heart.
Memories begin to fade
slowly, slowly.

The man is becoming stiff
his roots are twining up to meet him
The earth is claiming him
slowly, slowly.

Far from the home he loved,
and near to the desert devoid of hope,
The man becomes a shell of life.
A dying tree for the once garden of Eden.

Slowly, slowly.

a blush across freckled cheek
untrusting eyes dark and passionate
loud silent screams
echoing, rolling
filling the soul with words
nonsense, realism
poetry, fantasy
all the things I wish to dream of
all the things I wish I were
Oiled and cooperative
thoughts for many a purpose
Creating dimensions
tales of rings in pockets
and dragons under mountains
Lost and found
and lost again objects
insignificant in purpose
yet celebrated upon discovery
A memory
briding the gap
A dream
sending my soul to heaven
Poetry
a song for a silent lark
A scream
from a dead poet
Forced into ink
Safe from Prying eyes

I must say, my recent D.C adventure was pretty fun, even if I nearly froze to death and came quite close to having frostbite on my toes.

This was shot while we were trying to catch up to the March for Life after warming up in the Smithsonian of Natural History. Interesting story, I'll be writing about our adventure in a blog post pretty soon.

This is such a lovely photo, I keep coming back to it. I love snow and walking in the snow, and there's something so iconic about that view, too. I love the way you've captured the falling snow, it looks so peaceful, and I love that stillness when snow falls. It's like the world is having a quiet moment away from the clamour. Beautiful.
